DO Take Action Team
Many girls grow up without seeing themselves in STEM careers.
But social, cultural and educational barriers keep girls from pursuing STEM pathways, and the discouragement starts early.
She-STEM School Tour, an initiative by DO Take Action, takes a different view. It brings STEM into schools so girls can explore it and see a place for themselves in it.
Through school visits, STEM talks, career guidance, mentorship, female role models, teacher engagement, STEM Clubs and the She-STEM Tree, the venture creates sustained opportunities for girls to build the confidence and skills to pursue STEM. The model has already been implemented in schools and is now ready to scale to more girls and schools across Nigeria.
