In Ijebu-Jesa, secondary-school students learn about entrepreneurship in class.
But learning about it is not the same as practising it. Students hear the ideas without making anything real.
One to Learn, One to Give sees it differently. It brings practical shoemaking and business fundamentals into the classroom, so students learn by creating real products.
Developed by Zee-dot Wears, an existing footwear enterprise, the venture works with 60 students at Professor Olowokure Academy, Ijebu-Jesa. Over 10 days, students learn footwear production alongside entrepreneurship. Each student makes two pairs of sandals. One pair they keep as evidence of what they learned. One pair they give to a child in need.
