Parents and adolescents often want to understand each other, but they see the same moments in very different ways.
But differences in perceptions, expectations, trust, and communication patterns can build up quietly, and families do not always have a clear way to see what is going on.
MENTIO looks at these differences directly, then turns what it finds into guidance a family can actually use.
Founded by Alev Özpolat, MENTIO is an evidence-informed social impact initiative that strengthens communication, trust, and connection between adolescents and their parents. It uses structured assessments to identify where perceptions and expectations diverge, and translates those insights into personalized, practical guidance. Starting with families of adolescents aged 14 to 18, MENTIO combines family-centered support, measurable outcomes, and accessible digital tools.
We are proud to announce MENTIO as one of the finalists of Solve for Change Season 1 Round 2! 🎉
The aim is simple to say and hard to do. Help families build healthier and more sustainable relationships, one honest conversation at a time.
